How Can You Avoid a Cleaning Fee

The best way to avoid the cleaning fee is to abstain from smoking in or near the vehicle. We recommend you look your car over before taking it out on the road.

Check and smell for yourself to see if the car has any dirt, stains, or smoky smells.

If you aren’t satisfied with the state of the car, talk to a representative immediately and we’ll get you a new one at no extra charge (dependent on availability).

How Does Ishimotors Check Cars for Smoking

Each vehicle is checked for cleanliness before it goes out to its renter. When it returns, we conduct an inspection to assess the vehicle’s overall cleanliness. If any physical evidence of smoking is found (ash/butts in the vehicle, cigarette burns, etc.), or if a smoky odor exists, renters will be assessed a fee.

If possible, we’ll take photos to substantiate the fee. A return agent will conduct the initial inspection, and a location manager will look it over later to validate any evidence found.

In most cases, the cleanliness inspection takes place when the car is returned so the Return Agent can inform customers right away if a cleaning fee will be assessed. However, in some circumstances, the Return Agent may not be able to notify the customer of a possible fee at the time of vehicle return, such as when:

  • A Return Agent is unavailable when the car is returned.

In such cases, customers are notified via mail that the cleaning fee has been charged to their credit card.

Minimum Requirements in Order to Rent a Aar

In order to rent from Ishimotors in Florida, drivers must meet the following requirements:

  • Meet the renting location's minimum age requirements of 21.

  • Have a valid driver's license.

  • Be able to provide an acceptable form of payment.

Can I use another person's credit card with their permission

No. At the time of rental, the renter is required to present a valid driver's license and credit card with his/her name imprinted on it.

The name/address on the credit/debit card MUST match the name/address on the driver’s license.

Can I pay with cash

Yes. When you pick up your car, you may pay for your final rental costs with cash, credit or debit card. However, to release a car to you at rental pick-up time, you must provide a deposit using a credit card ,debit card or cash.

How Much is a Ishimotors Car Rental Cleaning Fee

A cleaning fee can be up to $250. This fee is applicable to anyone who returns a rental that is dirty or stained.

Late return fee

Vehicles are rented on a daily (24-hour) basis. There is a 29-minute grace period for returns. After 30 minutes late, hourly car rate charges and taxes may apply. After 90 minutes late, full-day late charges and taxes may apply.

After 7 hours late, if you didn't call to extend your rental, an additional $20/day late fee applies.

There is no grace period for rental fees, surcharges and optional equipment or protections charges. Full-day late charges will apply for these items.

Why Does Ishimotors Have a Smoke-Free Fleet

An overwhelming number of our renters requested that our cars be smoke-free. With those requests in mind, we strive to maintain a completely smoke-free fleet.

In addition, it’s more convenient for us and for our renters if they avoid smoking in a rental car because tobacco smoke can leave behind smells and stains. This means a lot of deep cleaning for us and fewer available rental cars for you.

Note to Our Renters Who Smoke Please understand that this smoke-free policy is an extension of our policies concerning excessive staining, pet hair, dirt or soilage attributable to the renter’s use. Ishimotors expects these guidelines to ultimately benefit all renters, including those who smoke. Every renter deserves a clean and fresh-smelling car.

Is a payment needed to hold my reservation

In most instances, yes.

However, some locations may require a credit card (usually for high-demand cars or in instances where only one vehicle is available within a popular make/model), or may require prepayment of the entire rental to secure a rate.

For non-prepaid reservations, your credit card will not be charged if you cancel up to 48 hours in advance of your designated pick-up time. However, if you cancel less than 48 hours before your pick-up time, a $75 U.S. fee will be assessed.

For prepaid reservations, your card will be charged at reservation time and separate Pay Online terms apply.
